Exercise is a vital part of leading a healthy life. To support you in reaching your fitness goals, you will receive a complimentary membership to the Penn State University Fitness Center on the College of Medicine's West Campus in Hershey, PA.

Fitness Assessment

Before starting your fitness membership you will meet with a Certified Exercise Physiologist for a comprehensive fitness assessment to measure muscular strength and endurance testing, flexibility testing, and cardiovascular capacity. The assessment will also include body composition analysis, including Body Mass Index (BMI) and tailored recommendations for improving your overall physical fitness.
 

Customized Training Packages

Whether your aim is to lose weight, build muscle or just improve your overall fitness, the trainers at Penn State's Fitness center can work with you to develop a unique training program. Trainers are available for the traditional cardio and weight equipment or in the specialized Pilates facility for focused core work.

Choose one of the following packages:

  • 10 half-hour sessions or 10 one-hour sessions with a personal trainer

  • 5 one-hour or 10 one-hour sessions with a Pilates instructor

  • Combined package with:

    • 5 one-hour sessions with a personal trainer and

    • 5 one-hour sessions with a Pilates instructor

 

All personal trainers at the Fitness Center hold degrees in health and fitness-related disciplines such as exercise science, sports science, or kinesiology. Additionally, they are all certified through nationally recognized certifying bodies such as the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), ACE (American Council on Exercise), or the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association).
