Research has shown that this training can enhance well-being by reducing anxiety, depression, chronic pain, stress, and high blood pressure, while improving overall quality of life.

Wellness Coach

Penn State’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is designed on the basis of the program originally developed in the late 1970s at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD.

Members can choose from two options:

  • 8-week online course consisting of an orientation, eight weekly classes and an all-day Saturday silent retreat

  • 4 in-person 1:1 sessions with a physician trained in MBSR therapy
